World Class Performance by past student, Cian Mulligan

cian2Holy Family Community School is delighted to hear of the great success enjoyed by Cian Mulligan in the Cabinetmaking World Skills contest in Sáo Paulo, Brazil. Cian was selected as Ireland’s best young Cabinetmaker and made up a team of fourteen highly-skilled young pople, who represented Ireland in the World Skills contest.  Cian finished 6th in the world in the international competition, at which over 50 countries and regions were represented.  Cian also won a Medallion of Excellence for his outstanding performance in the competition.  Cian, from Taravic, Redgap, Rathcoole is currently studying for his B.Sc. in Furniture and Wood Technology in GMIT’s National Centre for Excellence in Furniture Design & Technology in Letterfrack, Co. Galway.  Cian completed his Leaving Certificate in Holy Family Community School in 2012-2013 and displayed exceptional practical skills from his very early days in the school. These skills were developed and honed by his Materials Technology Wood teacher, Mr. Charles Hill, all of which stood him in good stead as he worked his way through the competition.  The school is very proud of Cian’s performance and his excellent result, and wishes him well in his studies and future career.  Click here for a report on Cian’s great performance from the Tallaght Echo.
