SSE
At our school, we are always working to improve how we teach, learn and support our students through our School Self-Evaluation (SSE) process. This means we regularly listen to the voices of our students, staff and parents to help us understand what is working well and what we can do even better. A key focus for us has been improving how students experience assessment, including helping students understand their progress, receive helpful feedback, and take more ownership of their learning.
We have introduced a number of initiatives to support this, such as using VSware to keep track of progress, reflection sheets to help students learn from assessments, and developing a whole-school Assessment Policy to ensure a consistent and fair approach across all subjects. We have also focused on improving how teachers use success criteria and feedback so that students know what they are aiming for and how to improve.
Student voice is a really important part of our SSE journey. Through our Student Hub, students are actively involved in sharing ideas, giving feedback, and helping to shape improvements in the school. We have also introduced our “Mirror Mirror” initiative, which celebrates student experiences and keeps our school community updated on what we are doing as part of SSE.
We are proud of the positive, collaborative approach in our school and remain committed to making sure every student feels supported, confident and successful in their learning.
